Deviating slightly from some of the mild darkness and trademark weirdness of previous TD recordings, "Memes To An End" holds steadily onto a more upbeat and uplifting mood while retaining all the usual underlying warnings and messages that have been at the heart of all TD music. As usual, this album is heavily inspired by the teachings of Alan Watts and Terrence McKenna and it is the latter whose controversial ideas about culture being a 'bad thing' that give us the album's title and recurring theme.
